Today is Thanksgiving, one of the more lovely American holidays. The whole point of Thanksgiving is to thank God for the harvest and for all that He's done for us, individually and as a country.
Here are a few things I'm thankful for this year:
1. My immediate family is together; we're all at home. That's never a given with my husband's career!
2. We're healthy.
3. I'm thankful for technology that allows us to speak and even see our extended family even though they're in the States.
4. I got to hold my new baby niece, Ava, last week whilst I was in the States! I enjoyed visiting with my parents, sisters, nieces, and nephew. I'm so grateful. (I did see my brothers-in-law, too!)
5. I thank God for my friends--scattered all over the world--who pray for me, laugh with me, and cheer me on.
6. I'm really glad God went to the trouble to make food taste good! I just took a pumpkin pie out of the oven, and the ham (gammon joint) is ready to be baked tomorrow. Also on the menu: cornbread dressing (stuffing), sweet potato casserole, and my husband's favorite, apple cake. Don't you just love special holiday foods?
7. I'm grateful for an amazing husband who trusts me enough to send me to the States and buy a house that he's never seen in person! And I'm especially thankful that he agrees with my plan to replace the electric hob (stove) with a gas one! He's a good, good man.
8. I'm thankful for my two incredible teenagers. (I wish you could hear them laughing together right now!) They're SO much fun! Thank you, God for them.
Goodness, I could go on and on! What are things, funny or serious, that YOU are thankful for today? Please leave a comment and let me know!
Happy Thanksgiving!

So many blessings... I didn't even try to make a list this year, but I do try to have a grateful heart year 'round. Hope you had a great weekend!
